The initiative was announced in mid December 2009 and applications had to be submitted by 23rd December.  Despite this tight deadline Newmarket were successful in making applications on behalf of 10 companies which given the tight time window was quite an achievement.

The initial scheme was undersubscribed with considerable funds left over.  At this time there is no information on how much of this second fund has been allocated.   What is clear is that Government were anxious not to have too many applicants- strange timing and tight window!- and are curiously very shy about PR on what you would think would be a good scheme. 

 Depending on circumstances it may be extended further.
